Starting and Stopping Kiln Services

Overview

Every licensed Kiln customer can start and stop the Kiln Services for various troubleshooting reasons.

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to start and shut down the Kiln services.

Affected Versions

Kiln 2.7.x and 2.9.x


Resolution

To Stop:

  1. Stop the Kiln Storage Service.
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click on Kiln Storage Service.
    3. Click Stop.

  2. Stop the Kiln Queuing Service.
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click on Kiln Queuing Service.
    3. Click Stop.

  3. Stop the Kiln IIS Application Pool.
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
    2. Click the ‘+’ next to the web server’s name.
    3. Click Application Pools.
    4. Right-click on Kiln and click Stop.
      NOTE: This is the default name and it could be different if you have customized the install of your FogBugz.


To Start:

  1. Start the Kiln IIS Application Pool.
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
    2. Click the ‘+’ next to the web server’s name.
    3. Click Application Pools.
    4. Right-click on Kiln and click Start.
      NOTE: This is the default name and it could be different if you have customized the install of your FogBugz.

  2. Start the Kiln Storage Service.
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click on Kiln Storage Service.
    3. Click Start.

  3. Start the Kiln Queuing Service.
    1. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
    2. Right-click on Kiln Queuing Service.
    3. Click Start.
