CSV Import Issue with Excel 2016

Issue

When importing a CSV file in Excel 2016, if any of the fields have new lines, Excel treats them as the end of the field making the document unaligned.

Root Cause

Incompatibility with Excel 2016.

Resolution

  1. Open the exported CSV file in LibreOffice or any older version of Excel than 2016.
  2. Save the same file as an xls or xlsx file.
  3. Open the file in Excel 2016 with no missing columns or rows.
