Overview
When performing global searches in FogBugz you have noticed that the columns displayed in the search results are not always the same and you would like to have the same set of columns returned whenever you perform a global search.
Solution
In FogBugz, the search will always return the columns that were selected in the last filter that was applied. This is expected behaviour in FogBugz, to have the search display the same set of columns you can save a search as a filter with the columns you want to be displayed by doing the following from the search page:
-
Click on the Select Columns dropdown in the top right-hand corner.
-
Select the columns you would like to have displayed and then click the Done button. FogBugz will then display the search results with the columns selected.
-
To save this search as a filter, click on the Save in the top right-hand corner.
-
Enter a name in the Save current filter as: field and click the OK button.
Now before performing a global search you can move your mouse cursor over Filters in the left-hand menu and then click on the filter you just created in the Filters sub-menu. FogBugz will run the saved filter and the columns selected will be displayed. The next search you perform will return those same columns in the search results.
