1.1.7 Release Notes

  • Brand new, super slick, ajax-and-HTML5-powered file browser for much faster directory hierarchy navigation.
  • Repository renames now show up in the activity feed
  • No more “no newline found at end of diff” crash
  • DAG rendering for graph view now plays nicer w/ named branches
  • Installer no longer fails if user has explorer window open and pointed at Kiln folder
  • Improved Kiln Import usability (including more straightforward “you’re missing specific subversion components” messages)
  • Kiln Import tool’s error debugging log takes care to avoid logging user’s password
  • Ajax error handler is now better about reporting errors that occur during an ajax request
  • The Kiln/FogBugz shared admin interface underwent a bunch of usability tweaks. Most importantly, the “Admin” dropdown menu remains in the upper right to help users navigate.
  • As always, fixed a bunch of small CSS/browser issues and edge case crashes found in the field
  • Tons more, but you’ve probably stopped reading by now
  • Our On Demand backend now monitors the size of each and every repository so we can keep an eye on anybody purposefully using Kiln as their video storage solution 😉 (even though we still, as of now, don’t charge based on storage).
  • Code reviews used to, rarely, pop up a little “this review has changed” message at inappropriate times. Fixed.
  • The FogBugz source control integration page now includes a helpful Kiln teaser for anybody researching source control hooks.
  • The admin interface’s “Fog Creek Software” logo used to be blurry in some old (FF2) browsers. Fixed.
  • We’re more forgiving and graceful in the way we truncate and handle large diffs. More improvements on this front coming in 1.2.
  • The KilnAuth extension was slightly tweaked to handle locked cookie files that get locked by antivirus software.
  • The Kiln Plugin is no longer downloaded with FogBugz On Demand databases when a user chooses to export their database.
  • On Demand customers that have seen unnecessary “Kiln Communication” errors should get these cleared out by the new upgrade.
