8.22.964 FogBugz - Release Notes (Latest Version)

Release Overview

Release Date: October, 2026

FogBugz 8.22.964 introduces support for Microsoft Graph as an alternative to Exchange Web Services (EWS), which Microsoft is retiring. This release also resolves several customer-reported issues related to Exchange Online mailbox integration, notification performance, and search indexing.

The release includes improvements for both FogBugz On-Premises and On-Demand environments.

Release Description

Customer Defects Fixed

Exchange Online Mailbox Integration

  • Microsoft Graph Support: Added support for Microsoft Graph mail protocol to accommodate Microsoft's retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS).

  • Single-Tenant OAuth Authorization: Fixed an issue where FogBugz On-Premises could not complete OAuth authorization for Exchange Online mailboxes using single-tenant Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) app registrations. Administrators can now specify the Entra Tenant ID in the mailbox configuration. Existing multi-tenant configurations remain unaffected.

  • Deleted Messages: Fixed an issue where Exchange Online mailboxes using Microsoft Graph with "Delete Messages" enabled moved processed emails to Recoverable Items instead of Deleted Items. Messages are now moved to Deleted Items as expected.

  • Shared and Delegated Mailboxes: Fixed an issue where shared or delegated Exchange Online mailboxes using Microsoft Graph could not mark imported messages as read, resulting in repeated imports and duplicate cases.

Performance

  • Notification Performance: Fixed an issue where cases containing large numbers of comments or activity events caused the notifications list to load slowly and consume excessive CPU resources. Event processing is now capped per notification to improve performance without affecting notification content.

On-Demand Search Indexing

  • Automatic Indexing Retries: Fixed an issue where newly created cases could occasionally be missing from search results, filters, or dashboards due to indexing failures. Failed indexing operations are now automatically retried and logged to assist with troubleshooting.

Administrator Action Required

Important: Re-authorization of Shared and Delegated Mailboxes

After upgrading to version 8.22.964, administrators must re-authorize any shared or delegated Exchange Online mailbox configured to use Microsoft Graph.

The updated authorization grants the additional Microsoft Graph permission Mail.ReadWrite.Shared, which is required to mark messages as read in shared mailboxes.

Without re-authorization, existing access tokens will not include this permission, and mailboxes may continue to re-import previously processed messages, resulting in duplicate cases.

To re-authorize:

  1. Navigate to Admin → Mailboxes in FogBugz.

  2. Locate the shared or delegated mailbox using Microsoft Graph.

  3. Re-authorize the mailbox to grant the updated permissions.

This action is required only for shared or delegated mailboxes using the Microsoft Graph protocol.
