Overview
FogBugz stores all the data it needs to run in the database. Please contact FogBugz Support to get further information on switching database formats. In the meantime, review this article to understand the available database options offered for you to switch the database accordingly.
Also, consider reading the article Backing up FogBugz for a detailed process on database backup using Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
Information
- To help folks adopt FogBugz For Your Server (FBFYS), a few database options are offered, including MySQL, although Microsoft SQL Server is the recommended choice.
- Integration with MySQL was offered before Unicode support was adequately available, and as a result, FogBugz had to force the support in MySQL.
- Unfortunately, this means that the MySQL database uses a unique encoding mechanism, and standard database conversion tools will not convert your data correctly.
- If you are running FogBugz on MySQL and are considering switching to Microsoft SQL Server, please contact us so we can convert your database under a Professional Services contract.
